Porsche Cayman 2006 was good. The new 2008 model? We really, really.......... really like this one on looks alone. Anyone who is a fan of the German sports car manufacturer will agree that this has styling to die for. Basically, it is a hard top version of the Boxster, Porsche engineers' state that the steel torsion roofing gives the vehicle more rigidity, torsion rigidity in facts doubles compare to the soft top sister, but there is something about the Porsche Cayman that makes it look better.

The UK's Channel five motoring magazine said that it is 'a brilliant sports car'. Top Gear said: 'A beautiful way to start the year'. There are complaints in some corners that its rear is quite bulbous, but we think it adds to the charm. Essential, this performance car is a hatchback, and is very practical for a two seater. Although based on the Porsche Boxster, we feel it is more a junior 911. Have a good long look at the wheel arches and you will see what we mean about the Porsche Cayman.

What Car reviewed this hot hatch as highly civilised and solid and dependable, which is almost certainly down to the roofing structure? It also said the Porsche Cayman was money in the bank when buying one. Its ride and handling was fast and easy, both versions benefiting considerably in handling from the improved reinforced roof structure. There was not one single millimetre wasted regarding the space with plenty of kit provided as well as many optional extras available. The couple of faults they found were that luggage was left on view through the rear window and the actual dashboard in the cockpit was a tad confusing. Everything about the way it drives; occupants, their luggage and mechanicals are accommodated brilliantly. All three respected journalist and review web sites seem to be giving it a thumb. It looks like on looks alone, Porsche have got the Cayman right first time.

So fun, quality, looks and speed seem to have been married together buy the boffins at Porsche almost perfectly in the new Porsche Cayman and the Cayman S sports car. It competitors should be looking on with envious eyes as none of their models seemed to be so widely accepted and reviewed so handsomely as the Cayman. Its immediate rivals are the Mercedes SLK and BMW Z4 who have restyled their models in order to keep up.
